Constipation is when your dog can't poo as they usually do. Signs of constipation include straining, discomfort, hard poos, and not going as often as they usually do. Several factors can cause your dog to become constipated, including insufficient fibre in their diet, age, lack of exercise, weight, and other health issues.
Constipation is typically managed without vet support. Our guide to dog constipation covers how you can treat it at home. However, if your dog is in discomfort, isn't eating, or is vomiting, please seek advice from your vet.
